Water worlds in the “Blue Valley”

Get away from the heat quickly and easily! Whilst elsewhere the temperatures are rising, in Antholz you will enjoy pleasantly cool weather, surrounded by an impressive water-rich landscape. Hike through habitats, wade through a cool mountain stream, marvel at the glittering surface of the Obersee lake near the Staller Sattel pass, and be impressed and invigorated by the Klammbach and Egger waterfalls – the air nearby is simply outstanding! Antholz is not known as “the Blue Valley” without reason. Children will have a wonderful time in the water adventure trail in Niederrasen. And here’s another top tip from us – walk around Lake Antholz and catch a fresh fish for dinner.

Climbing & via ferrata routes

The possibilities in and around Antholz excite both beginners and experienced climbers. In the valley itself there are 26 climbing routes ranging from 4a to 7a+. A special tip for traditional climbers is the traditional climbing area on the Staller Sattel, which has impressive natural lines. For lovers of via ferrata, Antholz is also an ideal starting point. Nearby and in the surrounding Dolomites there is a large selection of exciting routes, such as the spectacular Piz da Peres in St. Vigil, the climb to the Neves reservoir, the four on the Speikboden and Hochalpenkopf in Olang. Important: bring your own equipment with you! The high ropes course at KronAction Outdoor & Fun Park is an ideal destination for families with kids who love to scramble.

Tips for bad weather? Yes, but not just for rainy days!

Try wine, cheese, bacon and honey on a farm, enjoy a varied weekly programme with guided hikes, cultural events or a tour of the town in Bruneck, a visit to one of the many museums and learn something about South Tyrol’s history – the majority, such as the Museum of Folk Traditions and the MMM Ripa at Bruneck Castle are only open in summer and, of course, these are an excellent idea if you would like to broaden your horizons or the weather isn’t in the holiday mood.

A highlight: in summer too, every now and again there are biathlon taster lessons and guided visits of the Südtirol Arena, the biathlon stadium in Antholz!
